To build the know-how to implement superconducting undulators for its future upgrades, several projects are ongoing: a prototype SCU module (S-PRESSO) for an afterburner in the hard X-ray undulator line SASE2 is being procured; two test stands (SUNDAE1 and SUNDAE2) for the characterization of SCU are being developed; advanced SCU coils are designed and manufactured in house.
